Our mission is to conduct research in literacy that informs policy and practice early childhood through adult. Faculty at CCLD and its partner universities work collaboratively to improve literacy through rigorous research and evaluation.

The Collaborative Center for Literacy Development conducts research and evaluation to improve literacy in Kentucky. CCLD projects vary in scale, from large randomized controlled field trials to small, customized school-based evaluations. Results are disseminated through reports, journal articles, and presentations.
